  1. Psalm 19:7 “The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statues of the Lord are trustworthy, making the wise simple.”  God’s Word is true, faithfully representing His righteousness, truly fulfilling its purpose in the lives of those who honor them.
  2. Psalm 19:8 “The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.”  His truth makes our hearts right and in turn we rejoice. Through it, He gives understanding which feeds our souls.
  3. Psalm 19:9 “The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous.”  The fear of the Lord cleanses our hearts from the love of sin. The will of God never changes and His judgments are always just.
  4. Psalm 19:10 “They are more precious than gold, than much more gold; they are sweeter than honey; than honey from the comb.”  Understanding God’s Word is more delightful than any earthly enjoyment.

Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joint and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”  God’s truth is revealed to us through the Bible, actively accomplishing His purposes, justly penetrating deep into our soul, rightly judging our thoughts and the secrets of our hearts, rewarding and correcting as required.
  7. Psalm 119:18 “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.”  God’s law opens our eyes when we ask so we can clearly see his marvelous instruction which builds our faith.
  8. 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…”  God actively wrote His infallible and authoritative Word, useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
  9. Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”  Jesus’s words are more certain than the existence of the universe. Nothing can be more firm and strong than God’s Word, supported by God Himself.
  10. Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”  We should use His word personally each day to see the way He would have us go.
  11. Psalm 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”  Our hearts are kept by the Word when we keep the Word in our hearts. We should carefully and eagerly seek to obtain and understand God’s Word to keep us from wandering. Our goal: that we might not sin against Him.
  12. James 1:21 “Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. “  His Word is both filter and sustainer, essential to every believer’s walk.

Isaiah 55:11 “so is my word that goes out from my mouth; it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”  Knowing, understanding and doing God’s Word produces fruitfulness as we accomplish His will. We will also experience God’s grace and pleasure from being obedient followers.
  14. Romans 15:4 “For everything that was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” His word is our personal life-line, ministering to us emotionally, physically, psychologically and spiritually.
  15. Luke 11:28 “He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”  Blessings come to obedient followers of the Word. There is great happiness when we receive God’s Word, understand it, apply it and allow it to bear fruit based in obedience.
  16. Matthew 7:24-25 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into great practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”  Biblical wisdom is the ability to know what is right and what it wrong.  Hearing and doing sustains us.

Matthew 4:4 “Jesus answered, “It is written: Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”  Just like God gave the Israelites manna in a supernatural way, so he also gives us his Word. God’s word fortifies us and gives us instruction in defeating Satan’s temptations, blunting his attacks and avoiding his wiles.
  18. 1 Peter 2:2 “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation…”  We should consume God’s Word which is our spiritual food, essential in helping us to grow spiritually mature, active in the service of our King.
  19. Proverbs 2:6 “For the Lord gives wisdom and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”  God is the One who gives us true wisdom and understanding. We must not attribute wisdom as our own, but to the grace of God, acknowledging Him in our ways.
  20. John 8:31-32, 17:17 “To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (8: 31-32) “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth” (17:17)  When we read and believe God’s Word and hold fast to it, we prove to be true followers of Christ – experiencing His direction and confirmation, liberated from the bondage of sin.

Romans 10:17 “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.”  God speaks His message through us, His messengers, in line with His Word. God’s will is to send us forth to proclaim His truth, so that all would have opportunity to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ – repented, reconciled, redeemed, restored, renewed and resurrected in the new life found only in Jesus and his Word.
